Indiana Blood Center – need status elevated to CRITICAL!
We are hosting our Third Annual Blood Drive in Honor of Michael Treinen of Noblesville. If you are not familiar with Michael’s story, he was diagnosed with cancer… Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) in May 2007. Michael was a fighter and lived life to the fullest. After undergoing five chemotherapy treatments, he was found cancer-free in December 2007. However, after relapsing in January 2008, Michael lost his battle with cancer on May 25, 2008, just days before his 20th birthday. He fought until the very end – leaving emptiness in our hearts that can never be filled. Michael has inspired his family, friends and others to be fighters in times that we could easily be discouraged.
“Please live each day to the fullest – do something out of the ordinary and be edgy”, says his mother. “We think this is the best way to keep Michael’s spirit alive!”
Williams Comfort Air and Metzler’s Mr. Plumber committed to hosting a yearly blood drive in Michael’s honor. The Indiana Blood Center has recently elevated their need status to CRITICAL! If you have a NEGATIVE blood type, your donation is NEEDED even more for a two-unit red cell donation. So we ask everyone who is in the Carmel area to consider donating at Michael’s blood drive.
